A little about me , myself and i (modesty never hurt anyone)

my name is Danny Owen , i am 19 years of age and currently hold the position of junior sommelier at The Chester Grosvenor And Spa, i devote the majority of my time to the Arkle restaurant which has held a Michelin star for almost 20 years now , but occasionally i am needed either in La Brasserie or meetings and private dining if there is somebody who particularly "fancies" a nice bottle or two ! i worked under the supervision and guidance of Garry Clarke for over a year, recently he has been focusing more on investing and developing the cellar which in turn has given me a great opportunity to 'stretch my legs' a little more , so i am now responsible for the wine service in the Arkle Tues, wed, and thus , as on a Friday and sat he comes up to show his face, which is a good thing really because at least i don't get "where has Garry gone" every five minutes ! so please don't ask any more!!
I still have a huge amount to learn so that freedom during the week is a huge drive for me to source as much as possible so when Garry comes up on an Friday and Saturday i can try and tell him something he does not know , not managed to find something yet but I'm working on it ...... my day will come !! my drive and determination has mainly stemmed from watching my hotel manager and managing director succeed and collectively receive just about every accolade and title there is in catering and hospitality , so unfortunately i can not be the bad workman who blames his tools. After all this is very much a young persons industry and it is important to be developed and guided properly as we are the future of the industry. Any way once i have been shot , sacked or maimed for posting anything i should not have , i will write again soon !

An introduction if i have ever seen one

Well the first battle of course in the wisdom of youth comes abbreviating everything you say, think or text , so i have to go to the trouble of writing 'you' rather than 'u', 'any' rather than 'ne', 'before' rather than 'b4' ............. got the idea ?? good !! so with that in mind I'm going to try and keep an up to date diary of my progression and development , of course during this period I'm sure that i will be sharing a few of my antics and down falls !!
